Technology and Engineering Learning Materials\nfor Schools&#8221;, coordinated by the School of Robotics, took place\nin Vilnius on November 23-24, 2018. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nThe\nevent was organized during the exhibition &#8220;School&#8221; at the\nLitexpo Exhibition Center in order to disseminate information about\nthe project to as many teachers and pupils as possible. This decision\nproved to be successful: during the two days of the exhibition,\nchildren and representatives of schools from all over Lithuania\nvisited the stand of the School of Robotics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nThe\nbooth focused on presenting the Erasmus + project&#8217;s intelligent\nproduct. In our dealings with school leaders and teachers, we have\nonce again been convinced that the need for teaching materials to\ncomplete the content of lessons and after-school activities is very\nhigh. Many schools already have modern learning equipment, such as\nmicro:bit computers, 3D printers, and robotics kits. However, there\nare no free and freely available teaching materials in Lithuanian, so\nteachers have to become self-aware of the equipment, search the\nInternet for information in English, create their own assignments,\nsometimes lacking in time and knowledge and the equipment continues\nto stand unused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nInterest\nin the project&#8217;s teaching materials suggests that the training tool\nwill be useful both for beginner teachers and for those who are\nalready proficient but want to offer their students new exciting\ntopics and assignments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nChildren\nof all ages also took an active interest in the Robotics School\nbooth, observed the 3D printer in action and tested the breaking\nmachine. Children and parents were introduced to learning robotics in\ntheir city or school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nThe\nproject partners &#8211; KTU Engineering Lyceum &#8211; presented their own\nmodule on solving technological problems and adapting them to\nbusiness needs. The module is of interest to teachers who wish to\ncombine the teaching of several STEM subjects in the educational\nprocess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nThe\nsecond day of the exhibition hosted an open event for exhibitors\nentitled &#8220;Solidworks Designing for 3D Printers and Demolition&#8221;\nwhere Robotics School presented all 4 modules created during the\nproject, provided free access to training materials, and shared\nexperience in 3D modeling and printing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nAndrius\nJarmolajevas, a representative of Solidworks Support and Training\nCenter in Lithuania, presented the great news to Lithuanian schools &#8211;\n3,500 free 3D licenses for Solidworks to be distributed to teachers\nand students in the near future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nVilma\nBa\u010dki\u016bt\u0117, Head of the Pedagogical Department of the Ministry of\nEducation and Science of the Republic of Lithuania, welcomed the\ninitiative of the private business contributing to the technological\ndevelopment in Lithuanian schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nDuring\nthe event, about 70 teachers and several hundred children and parents\nlearned about the opportunity to teach and learn with the tools\ndeveloped by the School of Robotics and their partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nThe\nproject will continue until 2019.
